Ah, the joys of the Holiday season...how does Dr. Ryan celebrate...? The Singing Surgeon was in need of a helping hand, so for Xmass Mel not only got him a helping hand, but a whole arm! Look at the nametag attached to the cold dead fingers and see for yourself!

It all started back in 2004. I was going through a rather terrible depression, and so ~girl-withagun made of a demented little Christmas Carol (quoted above) to make me feel better. And you know what? It worked.

Now I revisit the original Christmassy concept five years and (hopefully) much artistic improvement later.

This is a "reboot" of my older "Merry Killing To You"a piece I drew back in December 2004. This is also my entry for =missimoinsane's Christmas Contest. The contest required that the image be visual art and be Christmas-themed. I think this more than qualifies.

For the pose in the original version of the piece, I referenced x I Love You x by *pu-sama, but for the new version, I just referenced the old "Merry Killing To You" from 2004, making improvements to anatomy, expression, lines, colours, etc. I think it came out really well in the end (and maybe a little more "festive" then the original too?). I even fixed the Wreath a bit after tracking down my original .PSD file from back in 2004 too, making it look much darker and fuller.

I think I'll do even more Ryan redraws/reboots in the future, but maybe once I get more contest entries and owed art done first.
