Good googly moogly this took for-fucking-ever to get finished! I've been working on this off and on for over two months and at one point the original PSD file got so big I had to move some of the figures to their own PSD files to prevent my poor laptop from freezing up on me. Now I'm finally able to consider this finished and I'm not touching it any-fucking-more!

My first gemsona Bloodstone wanted new weapons (bladed tonfas) and a new outfit as well as some new friends so I complied, and like Bloodstone I decided to adopt them all! Some of the gems I adopted didn't make it into this image (i.e Howlite, Angel Aura Quartz, Chrysocolla), , and my Aquamarine and Yellow Topaz are in their own separate image, but overall I'm happy with it. There was also a little minor incident with Obsidian, but it's since been solved so she gets to stay.

But I digress. These are the Gem Nation, which was founded after a disagreement between Bloodstone and Rose Quartz on how to deal with Homeworld. This lead to Bloodstone, Carnelian, Black Pearl, and Ametrine defecting from the Crystal Gems, stealing a Gem Warship and going on adventures in space and building their own "team". Eventually they return to Earth and with the help of Bismuth and Sky Sapphire created a synthetic island off the coast of Beach City known as "Facet Island", which thanks to the use of a cloaking device cannot be accessed by normal means.

Their full biographies will come later, although right now I can share a few notes:

The original founding members of Gem Nation are Bloodstone (leader), Carnelian, Black Pearl, and Ametrine.
All members of Gem Nation wear an inverted star somewhere on their person. This represents that while they respect Rose Quartz and the Crystal Gems and their causes, they do not agree with their more pacifist approach to war.
Night Sky Fluorite was found hiding out on Rogue Planet CFBDSIR J214947.2-040308.9 in the constellation Dorado. Her origins are a mystery and she refuses to divulge any details.
Bismuth is defective in that she is weak against lava. She also takes her work very seriously and prefers to be left alone to her own devices. She's not very good with collaborating on projects but does tolerate Sky Sapphire since she is more technologically capable.
Between losing her Zoo Human lover as well as so many friends during the rebellion, Pale Rose Quartz is almost constantly in a state of depression. She tries her best not to bring down her fellow gems, but sometimes she has to find herself somewhere private and just cry it all out.
Despite being polar opposites, Obsidian and Ruby Fuchsite are the best of friends and are not romantically involved.
On the other hand Star Ruby and Sky Sapphire are indeed romantically involved. Star Ruby originally served in Pink Diamond's Court and Sky Sapphire served in Blue Diamond's court. When the two tried to escape, they were caught by Aqua-Javert and Sky Sapphire's gem was cracked by Yellow Topaz (who was then a fusion).
As a result of being cracked Sky Sapphire can no longer predict the future, but has made up for it by becoming a technician and engineer and is the creator of (among other things) Star Ruby's Meteor Gun.
Ametrine and Carnelian are also best friends and both have care-free personalities similar to that of the Crystal Gems Amethyst. They are also known to play "Master-Blaster" much to the annoyance of Bloodstone.
Black Pearl once served a gem known as Black Star Beryl and hated every moment of it.
Fluorite was poofed in 1986 and never reformed until late-2015. As a result she is still "stuck in the 80s" as it were.
Fancy Jasper was deemed defective because she would much rather cook and clean than be a soldier. She's the big sister who you could count on to get up at 2 am to untangle a curling iron from your hair.
Phantom Rose Quartz is the result of a Rose Quartz and an Amethyst growing together in the Prime Kindergarten and emerged 995 years after the Rebellion where she "haunted" until her discovery by the Gem Nation. She is defective. She is thinner than a normal quartz soldier, she is mute, she cannot fuse, she cannot summon a gem weapon of her own nor can she shape-shift or heal humans or other gems. She can however temporarily copy some of the individual abilities of other gems by passing through them (like a ghost). However she cannot pass through gem bubbles.
