I Don't Take Art Requests. EVER.

Journal Entry: Tue Mar 15, 2016, 3:59 PM

After receiving at least ten notes within the past month, I feel that this really needs to be addressed...especially since it appears people either miss or choose to ignore my journals footers.

I DO NOT TAKE ART REQUESTS AND I NEVER WILL TAKE ART REQUESTS!

Due to real life I simply don't have time for them. Please refrain from sending me notes asking about it for from now on notes asking about art requests will either be ignored or linked to this journal entry. It's getting annoying and I would prefer to receive notes on far more important matters such as art theft.

Thank you.

Left-handed

:bulletred: What was your first deviation?
Some Neopets character art that's long been baleeted.

:bulletred: What is your favourite type of art to create?
Dark Fantasy Art, although lately I've enjoyed making sailor senshi.

AsteroidSenshi: A New SailorMoon Group.

Journal Entry: Thu Jul 30, 2015, 8:37 PM

li-xiang has struck again, this time creating AsteroidSenshi, a SailorMoon-themed group dedicated to OCs  who resides in the Main Asteroid Belt as well as the Kuiper Belt and the Scattered Disc.

Like Messier-Senshi  Dream-Senshi, Dwarf-Alliance: and may other groups there are, rules, regulations, and a sign up sheets for each branch (Main Belt/KuiperBelt/Scattered Disc) for which you can create a Sailor Soldier. Also, since the group was just founded by li-xiang  there aren't very many members as of yet, so I decided to promote the group in hopes of gaining some activity.

I just signed up and I'm excited about getting started, and I hope some of my friend will be willing to join in on the fun as well.

ViralSenshi: A New SailorMoon Group

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 6, 2015, 8:50 PM

li-xiang has created ViralSenshi, a SailorMoon-themed group dedicated to OCs who are the (disease-based) Guardians of Nature, and have been created by Gaia to protect the world even if it's from its own inhabitants.

Like Messier-Senshi and Dream-Senshi, there are, rules, senshi design guidelines, and a sign up sheet for different diseasees for which you can create a Sailor Soldier. Also, since the group is new there aren't very many members, hence why I'm promoting said group in hopes that I can help acquire more members.

I still need to finish my senshi. Anyway, I hope some people join up. : )

Good Things...

Journal Entry: Sat Aug 16, 2014, 6:10 PM

So, school starts Monday and the first day is going to be a busy one despite my having only one class (and possibly a lab). so I may be on DA a bit less. It's not all bad though give I should have my AFA by next fall.

Things are going really good though. Work is fun for the most part (unless it rains), my confidence in both myself and my art have returned (of course losing roughly 20 pounds without really trying helps), and thanks to the help of PixlPhantasy I've gotten back in contact with my old friend AyamePasse. We've been simming.

There's also something else I really want to tell everyone about, but not just yet. I want to wait until I'm sure of things first. Let's just say a little convenience store not far from my house just got better. : )

Deviant-Mars - For All Your Martian Needs!

Journal Entry: Thu Jun 5, 2014, 12:44 AM

I would like to take the time to promote a group in which I co-run, and that group is:

:icondeviant-mars:

Founded by Marsmar, Deviant-Mars is a group dedicated to all things Mars and Martian-related (although general science is also a common interest of ours). The group in question features many different works of art from a variety of related subjects and is open to more. We're hoping acquire more members so that we can possibly hold more contests in the near-future as well as have an all-around active group.

We also have a chatroom, but we not only talk about Mars-related things; any subject is welcome as well as ideas and suggestions for the group. Feel free to drop in. SilverBeastLaguz is helping me try and organize a small discussion group for Saturday at 7pm EST, but group discussion is usually open between 6pm-10pm daily.

The link to the chatroom can be found here:  chat.deviantart.com/chat/Marti…

If anyone has an interest in Mars or Mars related media, this could be the group for you. So far the group features many different works of art from a variety of related subjects and is open to many more regardless of quality. If it's Mars or Martian, it is more than welcome. : )

One Day More.

Journal Entry: Sun May 11, 2014, 11:41 AM

I'm sure some of my friends and watchers probably think I crawled off into a hollow log and died, but really I've just been busy as Hell this semester. For starters, the graphics card on my old computer decided it could no longer handle PhotoShop (or Sai for that matter) and would shut off whenever I tried using PhotoShop, playing games etc. There were some snow storms during the first half of the year, which caused classes to be cancelled on more than one occasion, and as a result my schedule got really tight, which means with those two things combined I have been making little to no art for the past few months.

But I now have a new computer, but I've been spending what little free time I have playing Sims 2 again. Hopefully once classes end on Monday (hence the title of this journal entry) I'll be able to get motivated and concentrate on making some new art (I'm really excited about a small commission/collaboration I'll be doing with pumpmonger for starters) in what little free time I'll have considering I will be working this summer! Yay! Monies! :la:

Also, I was put on some new medication in early January that is working better than I could have ever hoped. I'm experiencing decreased appetite as a side effect (although at least twice a month I'll have a random "I can't get enough to eat" day) and that combined with working out a bit more as well as the proportion control I realized I had been subconsciously practicing (while doing a class assignment for health), I've lost around eleven pounds! Despite the medication making me a bit derpier than usual, the pros definitely outweigh the cons. I'd much rather be a derp than go back to my previous state that's for sure.

So, I have two more semesters of college to go, I'm slowly but surely losing weight, I have a summer job (possibly two even, but I need some confirmation first), and I'm starting to feel like making art again. Sure, there are a few things that could be better, but so far things really seem to looking up.

Obligatory Happy New Year's Journal

Journal Entry: Tue Dec 31, 2013, 4:26 PM

Happy New year's, everyone! For me, 2013 wasn't the best year, but it definitely wasn't the worst. I mean, I have an amazing boyfriend, an annoying but nice family I wouldn't trade for anything, a couple of my friends got engaged, a couple even got married and in one case one of those married couples has a little one on the way. Art-wise the year was also good, but between my graphics card trying to die on me and having just been through yet another 2D design course, I haven't been feeling very arty.

Anyway, my friend CatholicusX is still hosting the Indiegogo Project for his game and needs your donations in order to make said game a reality. More information can be found here:

:bulletred: Tales of a Girl Named Rachel - Indiegogo.

Also, :icondeviant-mars:' first contest is still going and we would really like some more entries. I'm also wondering if any of my friends and watchers might want to donate some prizes (like journal features, art, etc). More information on said contest can be found here:

Indiegogos and Group Contests--Oh My!

Journal Entry: Fri Dec 20, 2013, 10:08 AM

First off, my friend CatholicusX is hosting a Indiegogo Project for his game. I've been watching him progress on this art and soundtrack-wise for awhile now, and its looking amazing (Personally I love that 80s synth). So if you can, please donate. More information can be found here: Tales of a Girl Named Rachel - Indiegogo.

<da:thumb id="420967095"/>

Also, the group :icondeviant-mars: (which I co-run with Marsmar ) is hosting its first ever contest and it's pretty much free-reign as long as it's Mars/Martian themed and doesn't violate DA's ToS and/or the rules of the group. Go check it out here: The First Group Contest: Pretty Much Draw Anything.

Not The Happiest Thanksgiving.

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 25, 2013, 1:08 PM

Due to some issues that have recently developed with my computer, all new art will be on hold until I can get my computer to a technician or possibly February when I can afford to just get a new computer altogether.  I have a few older art pieces that never made their way into my gallery I may post at some point.

Real life has been taking its toll on me (I will spare you all the details), and as a result I haven't been feeling very well as of late. Honestly, I'm worried about things, but all I can really do now is to try and better myself and hope like Hell that things will get better...or at the very least straighten themselves out.

Clearing Up Some Things

Journal Entry: Tue Sep 24, 2013, 6:57 PM

Okay, so I log on yesterday to find two notes in my messages: The first from my friend missimoinsane chewing me out and a note from another person who I had NEVER heard of before (let alone talked to) accusing missimoinsane of stealing my artwork and characters. I had no idea what in Hell was going on. missimoinsane had me blocked, but I saw she had mentioned me on devart and I was able to take advantage of the new "Mentions" feature on DA. missimoinsane and I talked it over privately and thankfully we're friends again. Long story short, there is some really weird stuff going on and it cost missimoinsane to not only have one of her submissions forcibly removed, but caused some tension among the group she submitted the image to in the first place.

missimoinsane is NOT a thief, and the "stolen" image I to which I was linked is actually one of the prize arts she made for me in 2009 when I won second place in her Xmass Contest. Yes, she heavily referenced my own art for the pieces (there were two images at one time plus a tutorial, but one was lost due to a hacking that occurred on her own account awhile back), but she did NOT take my artwork nor did she take my character.

As a matter of fact, here is the piece in question:

Luciva- hotaru-sama666 tribute by missimoinsane

I really hope that this clears up some things. I've been friends with missimoinsane since 2008-2009. I don't appreciate people trying to drag me and my friends into their own personal drama.

Time Is Still Moving...

Journal Entry: Mon Sep 2, 2013, 4:01 PM

School started again the week before last so when I'm not studying in the library, I've been busy with classes. I've learned the new Design Teacher (I'm retaking Design in hopes of bumping up my grade a bit) not only has an even longer list of required material than the older design teacher (almost a page as opposed to the previous less than 1/4 page) but she's really anal when it comes to perfection...and I mean really anal. During one critique she decided to put her fingernails under one guy's project and loosen up the pieces just because they weren't glued down perfectly. It wasn't even my project and I had this urge to slap her hands away. Regardless, I'm going to try my best, see if I can get a higher grade and get out of there. Firinne-Ceartais is in my class too, so that really helps make time go by faster when I'm forced to work on non-objective/abstract pieces.

But on an awesome note, the "Matter of the Heart" I've mentioned in several DeviantArt journals has been going far better than I could have imagined. I won't go into details for the sake of party (s) involved (although quite a few of my Facebook friends KNOW what I'm talking about), but let me say this: I don't think I've been this happy in a long time, and that's saying A LOT. This never ceases to amaze me and I honestly hope it never stops.

There are other real life issues I've been dealing with, but things seem to be slowly getting better, it's just a matter of taking it all one day at a time.

Time Is Moving...

Journal Entry: Sun Jun 16, 2013, 3:17 AM

So, my ViaSat modem died last Saturday and since ViaSat wanted to charge me $95 for their own failed equipment (I tried to tell them that there was something wrong with their modem over a year ago since the lights constantly blinked when it was not supposed to do so and it would randomly lose power, and yet they refused to replace the damned thing) I decided to go back to CenturyLink...meaning I had no internet until Friday afternoon since I had to wait for them to send me a shiny new modem, which came Wednesday. Then come to find out after trying to get through to customer service for two days that I was in an outage area, but once this was realized it was promptly fixed. Long story short: Don't use ViaSat.

Either way, it feels good to be back, and thanks for everyone on DeviantArt, and Facebook all the birthday wishes. It makes getting older a little bit easier. :)

Anyway, the semester ended this month and I was going through some real life drama for awhile, but most of that has settled save for a few family and financial issues. I will be moving shortly (and I'm taking my internet with me) and then come the first week of July I will be going on a trip with some friends. Hopefully I will be able to sign up for my fall classes soon...maybe even during my trip. Why yes, I am taking my laptop. For awhile I completely lost my creativity, but it seems to be coming back, albeit slowly. I've been forcing myself to colour some older pieces I have lying around in sub-folders on my computer..maybe after my trip I'll be ready to make art again

As for that "Matter of the Heart" I mentioned in my last journal over two months ago (since I know a few people keep asking me about it), things seems to be going well for the most part and I really hope that they continue to do so. Needless to say, I feel confident that I have made the right choice in the matter...and I hope the other person involved feels the same way. :)

I have to admit this is one of the better April Fool's Jokes DA has pulled in recent years (even though I thought the Cats Facts was fun). It'sfunny, a year or so ago immortalmina and I discussed how DA should have a "Dating Forum" of some sort (even though it would most likely attract trolls) given I know a few people who have found love via the internet, a at least one AWESOME friend of mine found love via DA.

Speaking of matters of the heart, I believe I've come to a decision on a certain matter only a few people know about. Right now I'm just waiting...

Living AC Adapter

Journal Entry: Mon Feb 25, 2013, 7:35 AM

Dead AC Adapter

Well, the AC Adapter on my laptop seems to have died, so I probably won't be on very much for the next few days. I have a replacement on the way, but I'm not sure when it will get here. Maybe my current Adapter will revive, but right now it's not looking very good.

No music, no PhotoShop, no Sai. >.<; This is going to suck.

Edit: I got pissed off at my Adapter, kicked it, and now it's recharging my laptop again. Now here's hoping my new Adapter will be here by next week maybe? e.e;

Art Theft: You May Be Affected

Journal Entry: Sat Dec 22, 2012, 12:33 PM

Please read if you post your artwork on DA, Tumblr, Nabyn, etc.

Apparently there this site (www.dramakoreaterbaru.com) thati is running a script bot that re-posts images from DA (and other) artists without permission, and sometimes without any credit. You can search for your username on the site, but I've heard this actually makes it possible for the site to FIND YOUR WORK and re-post it. There have been reports that the site is loaded with viruses and malware, so if you have already run a search for your username, STAY OFF THE SITE IN ORDER TO PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR WORK.

More information (including where you can contact the site registrant as well as the hosting company) in order to have your artwork removed can be found here:
